Shocking police bodycam has captured the horrifying moment a mentally ill teenager allegedly confronted and stabbed a constable in his driveway.Moses Thurairajasingam, 18, had his bail application denied when he appeared in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.The Cranbourne West teen allegedly lured police to his home in south-east Melbourne by calling triple-0 regarding an aggravated burglary on Tuesday. Thurairajasingam's charges include assaulting an emergency worker on duty, intentionally causing serious injury, common law assault and making a false report to police.Police allege the teen made a false report about being assaulted during an aggravated burglary.The court heard that officers attended the scene, 'believing they were approaching someone who needed their help.Confronting footage from the officer's bodycam and CCTV from Thurairajasingam's home was played to the court on Wednesday. The bodycam showed an officer calmly approaching Thurairajasingam before the teen withdrew a 13cm knife from behind his back and allegedly stabbed the officer.The constable, who had been in the police force for 18 months, sustained a 5cm deep wound to his thigh, which required surgery.  Police body cam footage has been released showing the moment Moses Thurairajasingam, 18, allegedly stabbed a policeman at 4:35pm on Tuesday Thurairajasingam was refused bail after allegedly stabbing a policeman Around 40 minutes after Thurairajasingam allegedly called triple-0, police arrived to find him standing outside the property.Read More Tragic breakthrough in hunt for tradie who vanished five months ago as suspect faces court The officer gets out of the car and is seen approaching the teen, asking him whether he called police.Thurairajasingam replied 'yeah' before he allegedly lunged towards the officer with the knife.The cop can be heard screaming out in pain and stumbling backwards. 'F**k I've been stabbed,' the officer shouted.'Ah f**k.' CCTV from the home shows another angle of the attack in which the injured cop manages to get back to his feet.Police allege that Thurairajasingam shouted 'shoot me' three times before the injured officer's colleague ordered the teen to drop the knife as he tackled him to ground and handcuffed him. 'I want to be shot so I can go to heaven,' the teen allegedly told the officer.The court heard that just hours earlier, the diagnosed schizophrenic had asked his sister if he 'stabbed someone, would the police shoot me?'.She had dismissed the 18-year old's ramblings, unaware it was an alleged plot he was about to put into play. An alternative angle captured on CCTV showed Thurairajasingam allegedly holding a knife behind his back moments before allegedly stabbing the constableThurairajasingam had also previously been diagnosed with depression and had been medicated after a seven-week hospital admission in 2021.  In opposing bail, Detective Senior Constable Ashley Hall claimed Thurairajasingam knew exactly what he was doing when he allegedly 'lured' police to his home and had 'no remorse for his actions'.'It was a calculated attack,' she warned.  'He's clearly expressed suicide ideation and he's willing to use other people as a means to an end,' the prosecution said.'Nothing could mitigate the risk, particularly to his family.
